Kings was launched back in 2018, when I (Keyon) saw a gap in the Milton Keynes street food scene for American comfort food.
I began this journey by doing pop-up street food events in MK and Bedford to get myself established and, of course, this new journey was far from a walk in the park! I was totally accustomed to working in a commercial kitchen, so having to adapt quickly to working outdoors, whilst producing quality food, out of a gazebo was something new and very challenging. I managed to make the pop-up scene work with my full-time job at the time, and was able to start a following for Kings, offering my popular dishes of fried chicken and waffles, mac-cheese and chilli and rosemary cornbread.
Fast forward to March of 2020, I had no other option but to make Kings work as a full-time business, due to the whole of the UK going into lockdown and the very industry I work in essentially being shut down for the foreseeable future, I decided to make Kings a priority and turned it into the takeaway service that it is now!
